Representatives of S.A.B. Aerospace Holding joined the delegation accompanying the Czech Republic’s Minister of Transport, Mr. Martin Kupka, on his official visit to Rome on January 15–16, 2025. The mission aimed to foster collaboration between Czech and Italian partners in the fields of transportation and space technologies.

Mission Program: From the Smart Road Center to the Italian Space Agency

The first day, January 15, focused on the introduction of the Smart Road Center ANAS, where the delegation gained insights into state-of-the-art solutions in smart road infrastructure. The day concluded with a reception at the Czech Embassy in Rome, providing an opportunity for informal networking and building connections.

On the second day, January 16, the program began with a roundtable discussion on automotive at the Czech Embassy in Rome, attended by Czech Ambassador Mr. Jan Kohout. This was followed by a tour of DEPA Freccia/VRT and an official visit to Thales Alenia Space Italy, where discussions centered on the current ROSE-L project.

The afternoon program took place at the Italian Space Agency (ASI), where Czech and Italian companies presented their projects and opportunities for collaboration. The Czech representatives included:

  • Tomáš Moravec, CEO of S.A.B. Aerospace,
  • Richard Pavlica, representing 5M and Czech Space Alliance,
  • Richard Sysala, representing escAerospace.

The mission concluded with a visit to ESRIN, ESA’s Earth Observation Center.

Successful Conclusion of the Mission

The delegation returned to Kbely Airport on the government’s Cassa C 295 aircraft in the evening. The business trip reaffirmed that the Czech space industry has much to offer on the international stage and remains a key partner in advancing European technologies.
